A short while ago, the Mighty AYB produced a short list of games he intended to r00l!!!

    ---------------------------------------------
    In no particular order:
    1)Dungeon Siege
    2)Neverwinter Nights
    3)Civilization III
    4)Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

They should all be released in the next several months

of these, only CivIII and NeverSleepNights are going to be released on the Mac.

    This thread has been informative.

    1) I recall that AYB played Dungeon Siege for several hours over a couple days, then drifted away from it never to play it again.

    2) Neverwinter Nights. I played through, bought all of the expansions and played through most of them, as well as a few fan-created campaigns and missions that were mostly crap. Very much enjoyed it

Of course, then there was Mordock. I fucking owned that place! I shat in the ’Planes of Rage’ like it was a personal bathroom break. At the end, I don’t think there wasn’t a place on the map that I couldn’t safely solo.

Trouble is, at that point everyone else had moved on. I stopped logging in for a few weeks and then.....it was gone... :(

It would be many years before I enjoyed another MMO as much as I enjoyed playing NWN with our Clan here at OSY.

One contributing factor I remember was the release of WoW. Personally, I never played a single minute of World of Warcraft. I kind of resent it for this, though yes, I do remember there being other reasons people left Mordock.

    3) Civ III was certainly in the top-5 all time for me as far as hours of play. I still have it on my B&W mac and have played it in the past year or so. Will probably play it again. I haven’t been able to get into Civ IV even though I have a copy. The new aesthetics just ruin it for me.

    4) Jedi Knight: jedi outcast - Never did play that. not sure I will

I loved Neverwinter Nights! I played all the expansions and then played all the custom mods by Adam Miller: http://www.familyofadam.com/mod/ which were AMAZING. And of course how can we forget MORDOCK!!!!

I played only a bit of Civ III but it didn’t really hook me the way Civ 1 and 2 did. Civ 4 and beyond got too complicated and took too long to play, although I have played a bit of Civ V.

I played Dungeon Siege but never finished it. It just got kind of boring and repetitive.

I never played Jedi Knight II (wasn't the first Jedi Knight called Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight? I played that one) but I heard it was good?

The one game I absolutely fell for and have been involved in is World of Tanks.

I have a clan, complete with a few friends that I play with several times a week. I have dedicated more time to this game than any other at this point, by a long shot.

Hey that's cool! I always thought World of Tanks looked neat, and it's fun to have a game that you spend lots of time with.

For me that game is probably World of Warcraft. I've been playing it since Vanilla and bought every expansion since Pandaria (which was a mistake on my part, as that was a pretty good one!) I have very mixed feelings about the game but I keep playing it, off and on, with every new expansion that comes out.

The other game that I've stuck with (off and on) is Starcraft. I loved Remastered and I even organized a tournament with it at my work last year: https://tl.net/blogs/533438-how-i-made-my-esports-dreams-come-true-for-one-day

These days I'm playing Starcraft II on Friday evenings with two other guys at work. We're currently rolling around in Silver League in 3v3. It's very silly and fun.
