I'm having this weird thing happen at work over the last week or so, where I try to go to www.jeremyreimer.com and it will get no connection, even when refreshing. I try an hour later and it's fine. Then I try a little later and it's down again.

It's not a DNS thing, because I go to the IP directly and I get the same problem. I'm checking into my server now to see what the deal is. It doesn't really seem like a DoS attack because usually there is intermittent access even during the attacks, whereas this is sort of all-or-nothing, on-or-off kind of thing.

Anyway have any of you been experiencing this?

Okay, this is really weird. I will be connected over SSH, LOCALLY, on my internal IP from home, and the connection will just be lost, randomly. I think it might be something happening between the server and the router, like a bad connection or wire or something.

I checked inbound connections and it was only like 30, totally normal for my web server on any given day. So I'm thinking it's not a DDoS.

It could be my router, which would be a shame, because it's otherwise an excellent router (ASUS RT-N12)

I unplugged the ethernet cable and plugged it back in again. Seems to be working better now, although I can't tell for sure.

    I blame my <a href=http://jeremyreimer.com/zoe/>cat</a>.

I also upgraded the distro and installed all updates while I was at it, because, why not?

    I mean, unless you're Sony.

Seems much more stable today. No interruptions in service that I could find.

    Nope, I'm the intermittent one.
