What should my 6000th post to the BF be about?

Well, I'm stuck at 5999 and I want the next one to be a goody.  Ideas?

Amiga Snippets please.

or just copy and paste Smamtrolli's guide to trolling, ya know the one where he calls us prepubecent teenage boys :p

Rhapsody.   You must tell us about Rhapsody.  That covers multiplatform-ness and Macs and lets you troll the Linux zealots quite nicely.

Linux on the desktop might be interesting, but it's been done a few times. Amiga and Rhapsody sound interesting.

3 way tie, guys, someone break it!

Definitely Amiga. There's much to be learned in how a computer platform that was AT LEAST 10 years ahead of its time can STILL lose the battle.

By the way, I think the 2nd choice should be your guide to trolling. But it's a distant second in my opinion.

Want me to stuff the ballot box?

Nah, I'd like more of OSY's illustrious readers to vote.

Well, I've done my duty.

OK, OK... I voted.  Couldn't help it that your site was unreachable this morning. ;)

BTW, sometime in the past few days, I passed the 3000 mark myself.  If I didn't spend so much time in the techie fora, it'd be much higher, I'm sure.  (The BF being a pit of flaming trollage despair, and whatnot.)

I had NO internet access this morning. I did an ipconfig and my IP address had been changed to something TOTALLY wrong, I had NO gateway address, the subnet was WAY wrong, it was horrible.  I had to reboot.

Fucking cable modems.  Give me my uptime!

Anyway, I see we're leaning towards the Amiga thingy.  Just as I'm busy taking screenshots of Rhapsody DR2... oh well... ;)

I have some pix I've been meaning to send you.  Will hopefully take care of that tonight.

DR 2, most of the other stuff has been done many times.

Except maybe the Amiga, but that's guaranteed to degrade right off the bat.

I just finished taking 20 screenshots of Rhapsody DR2.  I have to use them somehow.

If I talk about DR2 but mention the Amiga in places, would that be okay?  I'm leaning towards that.. I don't have enough material for a good Amiga post (yet)

There are two dangers in bringing up Amiga.

1) Instant taunting for Amiga's coming back RSN - even if you don't say it is.

2) Comparision to the "Atari is all you need" threads - IE dimissed as whacko.

Of course it's the BF, pretty much anything is likely to degrade no matter what you do.

Post the damn DR2 screenshots already.

Or burn me a CD.

Oooh, tell us why you like your iBook. Maybe Apple will put you into their new marketing scheme.

Jeremy! I've an old Zenith computer that could use some alternative OS lovin. It's got a Pentium 1 mobo with an Intel chipset, ATI Mach 64 graphics processor, and I think about 50MB of RAM, with an Intel NIC. If this sounds like something that DR2 or OpenStep 4.2 can handle please let me know and I'll further pester you for linkies. :D Or I could offer to cover shipping and media and etc if you like too. (hint hint) :D

How about explaining that with Rhapsody and Apple's iBook, the need for an "alternate" to Windows on the desktop is nicly sated, and Linux is likely to suffer a similar fate to the Amiga, having a small and incredibly bitter hardcore of users treating it's eventual resurrection as an article of faith?

Just a thought.

It's pretty much ideal for Openstep or DR2.

Unfortunately the only DR2 I have is a disk image for Virtual PC/Windows.  Very cool if you have Virtual PC, but I don't know how to turn it into a real disk image.

I'll open up my ftp server again.  You know the details, if not, email me.
