Free HTTP server

OMNI was so easy.  Apache is too much work and I don't want to use IIS.  I liked that omnihttpd...

Does anyone know of another free one or where I can get the updated version of that one, cause their site has stopped existing...

What do you mean Omni stopped working???

Pegasus3d.com is running on Omni!

I recall I had to upgrade the software a few months ago though... if you want the updated software let me know and I'll put it up here.

What's wrong with Apache?

You dont have to mess with the config as long as you dont want fancy stuff like php, cgi, or want to disable directory browsing.

There's a bitchin* server written in C#. Doesn't exactly do, well, much of anything, but it's free! there you go! all set to take over the world with your free config-less webserver.

* This is a lie. It does damn near nothing, and I think it does actually require a little config. Basically, it sucks, but I wanted to have some fun with the fact that someone wrote an HTTP server in C#. The source is actually quite readable, of course, due to the fact that it's quite sparse.

HitScan: But does it fit in the kernel?!

I've decided that my OS, HSOS (or HiSauce, hoever you want to pronouce it) should be built with a very easy to use kernel plugin architecture, so that I can help to fill the gap in the kernel addon space. I plan to release a kernel HTTPD, kernel browser (yowsa!), and a kernel paint program. Should be a real "screamer" ;)

What RQE was asking for.. the latest updates to OmniHTTP.  Apparently the non-commercial versions expire every so often in order to get you to upgrade to the new version.

Great web server... click install and go, no editing of text files needed.  No stupid 10 user limit on Win2k Pro like IIS, no stupid tagnuttery like Apache.
