I remember wondering if anyone would post, and when RQE did, it was a funtasticular moment in space-time(tm). For the first day I think it was just us talking back and forth to each other.
But I had made an announcement (of sorts) on the BF, and Paul Hill (Hurrah!) soon stepped into the tepid waters of the OSY aquaverse. Others would follow, mostly from the BF (have I ever advertised anywhere else?) and for the first few months the fun OSY game was figuring out who everyone was on the BF and vice versa.
There were some fun moments, like DrPizza's declaration of lust for RQE's nether regions, and the subsequent (and sadly lost) hardcore animation Hard Icon, made by Duffman in MS-PAINT!! There were the frightening times, when APK invaded, DOSed the board half to death, posted really icky stuff, and finally became the first and only Officially Banned Fucktard Extraordinaire(tm).
The most tragic moment was when I had to prune the board in order to try and fix a tragic posts-only-appearing-at-the-end bug, right when I was personally going through some hellish times trying to prepare a wedding and stay healthy and keep my sanity at work. Fortunately a white Knight appeared in the form of Forum Fixer Man, who restored normality, and probably my sanity as well. Still, I weep over those lost posts.
There were moments of triumph, when I finally fixed quoting, and moments of frustration, when I was trying to add polls (it probably won't happen)
There was the excitement of our first Lieutenant, first Commander, first Captain (RQE, the First Captain) and first Admiral (Imitation Gruel, with AllYorBaseRBelong2Us following soon after)
There have been great flamewars with Socrates and DrPizza, there have been great mind-expanding discussions courtesy of OscarWilde and otheres, but most of all, there has been great silliness, and I have all of you to thank for that.
I think you're all great, but especially the hardcore OSYers, in alphabetical order: AllYorBaseRBelong2Us, DrPizza, DuffMan, Imitation Gruel, Madan, OscarWilde, PaulHill, Riso, Robocop Q. Einstein, and last (and probably least.. just kidding) Socrates. You guys rock.
So, that's one year. Shall we go for two?

If it isn't too late, perhaps you should mention our triumph in your 5k post to Ars, perhaps a mini-membership drive is in order to celebrate? (Or on the other hand, an "I told you so! we're still here!" It's up to you ;) )

Of course, mine changes about every (given period), and I can't remember when either HitScan or Harbinger had a different one than their current choices.
And I've suggested and caused the making of a ton of avatars tha I've rarely if ever used.
So manybe this isn't really the best possible fit.
