This is the reason I read slashdot:

I have to admit, I don't have the guts necessary at the moment (nor a place to mount my drives so that they could even be seen) But I think it would be neat seeing them seeking about.

Of course, I wouldn't want to do it quite the way it was done here. I'd rather vacu-form some lexan and replace the entire top cover. Plus, I would want to keep the centers for the spindle and heads intact with a wire running to the drive case, because you don't want static building up there.

Still, I think this merits a "Kick-ass" or two. Now I just need that SCSI RAID card... :biggrin:

I may, �If I can acquire said lexan and an extra drive to test it with. After seeing the piles of shit in those WD drives I ripped out of the Gateways, I don't imagine it's too bad for them to be nekkid for a little while. You just have to be sure to cover them like he said. (not sure if I'd use staticy cling-wrap though. ;) )
