Who are you, and for that matter, who am I?

Imitation Gruel

Begin waxing poetic:

When I was a child I spoke as a child, laughed as a child, and thought as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things.

What is a forum? A forum is a place where people gather; often for discussion; an oft-metaphysical place, with boundaries. But boundaries sometimes are illusory, or arbitrary, or completely non-existent.

This is the state of OSY, in which I am a poster, and this is my 2000th post here. Posting milestones are fun; and all the more meaningless when a whole fucking lot of those posts have been pointless wastes of valuable seconds spent typing.

I am Imitation Gruel. This is just one of my many internet identities.

In real life, I'm a college student living in a suburb of Dallas, Texas; a Political Science-majoring Libertarian, with a quiet manner and a penchant for cynicism.

I stand a few inches over 6 feet tall, weigh about 200; and I have thick but short brownish/blackish hair, and hazel green eyes that require glasses for me to see well.

But does this tell you who I am? I think not; it merely tells you a few things about me; and unless you know me in real life (entirely possible), you do not know if these things are true. I could be lying.

So what do we know about each other? Perhaps a lot; perhaps very little. You know my interests, or what I have admitted my interests to be, bearing in mind it could all be fallacious.

I don't like boundaries. Especially not boundaries on the mind. However, life is full of those constraints.

True freedom would be freedom to think and know absolutely everything about anything; however this would also be a true boundary, as nothing would be secret.

Information is existence; all is data. But data can be contrived. In the end, all is but numbers, and experiences could, in theory, be nothing but artificial numbers implanted in one's mind. Everything could be illusory, and one may never know.

Information is freedom. The question is, is it desirable?

This has been a Profound Moment.

2000th posts hey?

crickey!

well so far i gots to give you the award for the most interesting 2000th post milestone speech.

Should have saved it for the 3000th post where you also change title, but now you have to out do your 2000th post. Gonna be a hard feat to accomplish.

Well next up for the 2000th post speech is me and then Duffman. However i never made any speeches for any milestone i met at OSY. So i'll probably will not even make a 2000th post speech at all. Which in it self is profound as silence is truth spoken to loud to be clearly heard.

Yes, and here's to a great start on the next 1000.

I should punctuate this day by saying that today, in fact, is the 5th birthday of my nephew Louis.
