Mozilla and my WD800BB drive....

Well I finally replaced my IBM drive with the Western Digital Drive. ITS REALLY QUIET!!!!

IE has been vewy vewy problematic at arstechnica. So i downloaded Mozilla since Omni hasn't updated thier browser yet.
What a surprise. Looks like Mozilla is coming along pretty good.
I think I might eventually even move to mozilla full time.
Wow! Whats even more interesting is that more and more I'm using less and less microsoft products. I'm not even doing it intentionally though.
Maybe cause the WD harddrive is silent the RDF signals are being heard more clearly. Seriously if you put your ear close enough you can hear steve jobs talking to you. Very spooky.

Now where is my kool aid.

I tried Mozilla for a while. Pretty stable and fast and the vast majority of pages rendered correctly. It was a bit slow to start up though.

I have not tried any browser past IE 5.01, as I see no need to do so, and I am also extraordinarily lazy.

Why switch browsers when the current one works *fast* and *well*?

IG you're right in what you're saying but the problem is if i have a problem i'll have to find another solution. Hence Mozilla. Now if I find that Mozilla is as good or even better then IE and works where IE is currently having problems then I may end up moving to Mozilla.
For me its a cycle.
I went from netscape to IE when netscape got crap and IE got better. Who's to say that the reverse won't happen?
I actually like Omniweb but its got some kinks they have to work out till I may actually use it full time.
Currently IE is ahead by a slim margin in terms of features, speed, and rendering quality. Other then that the other browsers are quickly catching up.

Duffman do you mean slow to start up as in earlier builds being crap? Then yeah the earlier builds were crap. If you mean slow to start up as in app launch time, then yeah thats pretty fucking crap too. Why does it take so long to start up a browser? Even on PC's Mozzila takes its sweet time. The nice thing about Mozilla too is its ability to use skins/themes. Granted then it doesn't seem to fit the overall theme of the OS.

Navigator* used to be a great browser and IMO surpassed IE in so many ways. I like its integration of the email program, html editor, and news reader in the navigator interface. Plus at one time it used to be so much more stable and faster. Then IE got better and Netscape got lazy and arrogant. Too bad. I hope that mozilla brings navigator back to its glory days.
Some of you msoft fan boys don't even know some of the shit msoft pulls with its monopoly status and that irks me. Only because there are times where some sites that work best with the PC version of IE. AND NO, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT I SHOULD GET A PC. Its a choice, and the internet should remain at large platform dependant.
ah well.....

*Netscape is the NAME of the company that created Navigator, although for some reason people call the browser Netscape. A mistake i make too at times.

I have no problems whatsoever with IE 5.01; not one.

Therefore I see no reason to update to a more current browser.

But that's just for me.

I meant as in app launch time.

Hmm, I haven't tried using the skin features of Mozilla but if it allows for a truly customizable interface, it could be my new browser of choice. It might be just me, but for some reason I really hate IE 6. My biggest problem with XP is that I cant go back to IE5.

Why? Is IE6 giving you trouble?

IE6 has little things that annoy me. Like the address bar auto-complete memory seems to be shorter. Various other minor annoying things. It works fine, but so did 5.

Ahh:
Ow  you'll love this.  I just installed redhat rosewell.
The only browser I can find that moves with java, so I can watch my surfing sites and porn is Netscape.
Mozilla has this download the plugin, but it never works.
