The "whupping" RR received wasn't even tied to the interesting part of the thread: namely the processor architecture.

The point isn't elitism, (in response to your humble remark) it's about trying to make sure that people don't get mistaken for trolls when they really don't have a damned clue what they're talking about. That way, we know they must be trolling becasuse they supposedly know some of this already.

It's not a good plan, no. But it beats having to listen to RR.

RiscRocket reminds me of a no-talent boxer who just couldn't realize he had no fucking talent. He'd go in the ring and get beaten up. Once he healed he'd go in the ring and get beaten up again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

It never occurred to him that he couldn't fucking box and that he should take up a different career, like flower arranging or something.

I think that RiscRocket is a little like that.

Haven't we already discussed that the battlefront is a hotbed of fuctkard trolls extrodinare.

RR is just to overzealous but he's equal to the other over zealous posters in the BF.
Seriously, apart from the rare educational posts by the good posters the BF is a place where REALITY is SERIOUSLY distorted. There are SOME merits to some of the more zealous posts, but it the signal to noise ratio is the problem that hides this.

Besides, even your repsected peterb isn't any better. IN NO WAY AM I COMPARING PETERB TO RISCROCKET, but in his own way peter is way to selective. Like one of his posts in the iPod discussion.
First things first.  I THINK APPLE HAS MADE A HUGE FUCKING MISTAKE WITH THE PRICING OF THE iPOD.
Back to peter's post. In his entire post he puts aside the integration of the iPod and just focuses on the fact that pc's can do the same thing. No fucking shit pc's and mac's have had access to the same features. Heck I don't think the iPod is a revolutianry idea.
But give credit where its due and admit that one thing Apple does best is very tight integration with its hardware software solutions.

I have a lot of experience with Macs and PC's. I often find that Apple tend to create very good solutions. Granted its not various aspects of the solution may not be the best out there, i.e. itunes is not the fastest MP3 ripper, but the fact remains as a total solution its good. Plus you're not tied down to the whole package.

ANyway i'm going of topic.

Just remember boys, you may put another man down but realise that there are alot more posters at the BF that ain't any better, yeah they are more sophisticated but a bad post is a bad post regardless.

No disrespect to Peter though.
Plus I don't take ANY of the contention at the BF seriously anymore. Like I said, people at the BF are very detached from reality.
We're even more detached if we have to make a big deal about some retarded posters at the BF where in the first place the entire BF is almost insignficant to arstechnica. You can learn a lot more in the other specific forums.

I think I will refrain from this kind of talk. Actually, I have been because I think my assesments are biased.  I can be a bit selective because of my platform choice, though there are Wintrolls that do the same kind of stuff as the Maclots.

I'd rather talk about other nonsense as well.  Maybe even post more pictures of my poopy-head and do some math.

Apple is expanding it's produce department from iFruit and adding peas to round out yer three squares a day. :)

Actually it seems to be a MP3 player of some sort.  You must really not be looking at the BF lately as it is the lastest topic of discussion.

Not that I care that much as I have little interest in MP3 players right now.
