Besides, it's better to do it here than over there, since it would be a violation of the PG.  While some posters there don't feel restrained from posting ad-homs, I think it's better to blow off steam here, if necessary.

I know that DF and Spinlock have bitched about OSY because we've in the past vented our spleens about them, but hey -- we got over it, why can't they? :biggrin:

I think what IG said is the deal: I think that those people who badmouth this place really haven't spent enough time here to understand the dynamic of this place.

Anyhow, Spinlock is the reason that so many people dismiss us out of hand. He got pissed about Paul Hill's thread about him and, as is often said, "It was on" :rolleyes:

Sadly, due to all the shit thrown about OSY at Ars many people who may come to find that they enjoy our give-no-damn-about-anything dynamic that we have may never come to visit 'that stupid forum where all they do is bitch about Ars Members' :rolleyes:

Hell, other than Spin, any mention of Ars names were those of assorted Trollinus Maximus anyhow.

That said, this is where I have staked my digital claim. This is my home on the internet. The Battlefront was a fun place to visit, but I can no longer stand it. MegaTokyo's forums are a bit slow and I'm not yet totally caught up on my Anime anyhow ;) So, here I is, and here I stay.

I think it's kind of funny that the people I had the least respect for at first, turned out to be the people I respect in the end.
Paul Hill, PeterB, MWNH, all turned out to be straight up people, I respect.

Wouldn't object to a beer with any of em.

On the otherhand, ARS has real trolls for moderators in some cases.

One of the AV moderators came into the soapbox, on a serious thread, and started calling me spamtrolli, and all that juvenille crap.

I turned the tables, posting the ARS guidelines, and telling him he should follow them, along with copying the post, and emailing it to Ceasar.
He went away.

It's that kind of stuff that gives ARS a bad name here;-)

Which is why Microsoft are holding it's head in a bucket of water until the bubbles stop coming up, and replacing it with XP.

Mac OS X still has about a year before it's ready to replace OS 9.  XP has being doing it since September, and Longhorn will be well on it's way by then.
