Hi OSY

How my postcount here is over 1000 I have no idea. I'm a bit younger than y'all, at 26, but I think I've also fallen down a different rabbithole...
After university I accidentally fell into a job in indie film visual effects. I have my own
STARmeter on IMDB and everything.
At some point I stumbled over
this blog post and something went PING! I spent most of my free time running around underground and climbing things:

I guess all that culminated in a trip with similarly-minded people from various corners of the globe in which we ended up washing our hair in the reverse side of Niagara Falls, courtesy of an abandoned hydro tailrace, which you can read more about
here and
here... my own pictures and words live here:
http://tender.is/the.nightDuring all that I was living in a warehouse I semi-converted with a bunch of friends...
before and
after. We generally caused all kinds of trouble, I went out with a stripper for a bit, good times were had.
Currently I'm nursing an achilles tendon injury and a broken tooth and doing not much! I quit my job before Christmas after our tiny team got taken over by a great big company.
I remember JR saying he'd wasted his youth by not wasting it... I'm planning to waste everything as fast as possible

Computing wise, it's mostly just a Toshiba convertible tablet I run Slackware on. I booted Vista a few times but it made me angry. I'm losing touch

Whenever I need to write something it's shell script I turn to first, and I have no idea how to set up NetworkManager or the whole hotplug thing. My Wacom tablet doesn't work after suspend/resume and I straight-up can't be assed to work out why! My Octane kernel panics if the fibrechannel is connected at boot time and I just don't care! I also have no comprehension of AJAX, Prototype, JSON, Rails, virtualisation, any of that. I'm staggered that HTML is now something you write
entire applications in, but somehow I run Opera full screen and sit in it 99% of the time so I suppose it works!
Writing too much! Congratulations to Paolo and Dv, and I hope you're all doing well!
