Those of you (you few, you proud, you OSYers!) who remember way back to OSY 1.0 will recall I used to use awstats to do a neat graphical display of the number of hits, browser, pages visited, and other stats on my site. Well, those happy days are here again!

I've put the awstats page here. It's just static pages, because I didn't enable the web-based updating stuff (historically, there have been security holes in this). I run the updates from the command line using a shell script run via a cron job.

Go nuts, see what neat things you can find!

    Some preliminary data:

We can see the vast majority of views are spambots trying to post on OSY 2.0, the PHPBB forum (they can't, as I've disabled new posts) Then come spambots (and presumably other people, based on some of the Google searches) finding old messages in the OSY 2.0 forums.

So what I've done is put a little message on the OSY 2.0 forums saying they are old and archived, and putting a link back to the main page. I've also put some Google ads on the old forums, because I have $55 owed by Google for ads from years ago, and it would be neat to get that up to $100 so that I can actually get paid from them. Since it's not new content, the ads won't annoy posters in OSY. 3.0.

Similarly weird are the Google searches that people use to end up on this page.

Seriously, all the laura prepon stuff weirds me out. It’s doubly weird that everyone always used to think I looked like her TV boyfriend on "That 70’s Show".

Turns out a lot of the "nude girl" stuff refers to a single thread on OSY 2.0 called "ereh nemow dikken on - [[[ NOT WORK SAFE ]]]" that apparently Google (Google Images anyway) just loves to death. Mantis Girl was apparently some 3D thing that someone posted once that was really popular. It’s weird! At least there’s some personal computer history stuff in there.
