Is anyone into Ingress?

Forgive me, but I keep trying to see the point, and I am failing. I appreciate that many people have taken up walking for exercise and met some people while playing it. But is there something else of significance to this? When I attended the presentation, someone mentioned that Ingress seemed to be encouraging and promulgating the use of Google+, and that might be sufficient reason for Google to have sponsored it.

It seems kind of weird to play a video game that requires you to go outside. I mean, I play video games so that I don't have to go outside!

But if it ever comes to the iPhone, I might give it a shot.

I've heard of another game - Strut - that is just focused on covering territory. No worries about doing weird resonance things, or whatever.

Pollen and heat makes outside bad for allergy sufferers in North Texas. Only two reasons I go out: the dog needs walking and such, yard work.

I have a couple of friends that are really into it. Not really for me though (mainly since all I have is an iPhone).
