I had Starfleet Command I installed on my Compaq.

When the mods wouldn't work on it, I uninstalled the game(menu..uninstall) and then deleted the folder where the game resided within.

Then, I tried to reinstall it off of my CD...

But wait..it won't install. It tells me that "the DDRAW.DLL file cannot start. Check the file to determine the problem."

WTF?

HELP!

YES, it is a full version, non-hacked game. What do I do? It let me install the Command 2 demo but I want the first game full version on!

PLEASE.

Try updating DirectX?  DDraw.dll sounds like a part of Direct Draw.

Win98 is indeed poopy!

when you uninstalled you might have mistakingly removed shared files too. That can be teh bitch especially when the installer tells you that it the shared files don't seem to be used by any other program at the time. Off course when you re-install and it turns out that the program it self didn't install those shared files the first time around then you're screwed.

Re-install Direct-X and all shall be good. I deem it so.
