Season one is odd. I mean, it's great, but really short, and seems to be filmed with a gamma of aout 0.5.
I don't know about the gamma, but season one is short (only 12 episonded) as it was a midseason replacement for something that was probably stupid.

The only reason I know this is because I watched the first 2 eps on the DVD with Joss Whedon's commenary enabled. Quite enlightening on the series, the characters, and the how a TV series is made.
And yes, I am told that season 2 is to arrive next Tuesday.

Gotta agree with you there. Even if it doesn't turn out to be one of the TV show eps of all time, it's definitely my pick for the best Buffy ep.

But I agree with you: the past few Buf seasons, she's been looking more gaunt because of her training. The whole scrawny-neck-showing-your-sinews I find unattractive; it makes her look much older. Gimme the younger Buf.
And speaking of BTVS... I mentioned that I was at my cousin's party this past weekend (see Amiga stuff). Her younger (16 y/o) sister brought a friend to the party; I assume she's the same age or pretty darn close. This friend looks very VERY much like Willow-in-HS, right down to the way the corners of her mouth turned up at the same angle. Sadly, if I would have acted on my thoughts of that moment, I'd now be in jail. :evilgrin:
