In all honesty, I have no idea what just took place here. For some reason I felt I needed to spend 10-20 minutes of my time alive doing this. Wow. The soundtrack is pretty good though.

I like the song.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) I cannot share in the sentiment.  I like my job.  Today I went in and started documenting all the little things the code does for our new DVR.  This was tons of fun.  I also played around with Darwin some more, and taught one of our technicians how to do some funky stuff with Windows 2000.  Then our lead programmer came in and we yakked for ages about operating systems, the project, development tools, and other tagnuttery.  I think our working relationship is continuing to get better-- all it took was firing one dangerously incompetent manager!  :)

Oh, and this morning I got a great big hug from our secretary, because she had accidentally deleted about 4000 of her email addresses in her contact list in Outlook.  Gee, I guess it was a good thing I made backups, eh?  ;)

Yeah, I'm having fun.

It doesn't always suck. I basically get paid to play with my web calendar pages (which are basically feature-complete, save for a stickler or two) and it's usually a cakewalk (where do you think I post to OSY from? ;) ) But this week I had a lab assistant take some vacation days and here I sit, stuck up here unable to do any work signing people in to check their email. Bah.

Tomorrow, I'll be more pleased with my job as I replace my piece of shit computer with a nice new one, but I've never heard an upbeat cheery bluegrassy song ;)
