Just came back from our Disney World Fieldtrip.

One Saturday. Plenty of delays but the kids were SUPERB. Only our top 5% performers are allowed to go and they behaved very well.  We all had a blast.

Animal Kingdom: ****/4 stars.

:)

Have a nice day!

Performers?

Drama? Music? I'm lost...

Possibly top 5% of the classes, which I would think would be a very small number. Indeed Mad, 'splain. :)

Top 5% ACADEMIC performers.

Our best pupils.

Those with no conduct grade below a C. No academic grade below a C. EVAR in our school.

"Wrong" in that I guessed incorrectly, or that it's just "wrong?" ;)

Both.

Especially considering they're 11, 12, & 13 year olds.

Disney are more evil than MS could ever hope to be.

Clue me in on some of this, I don't pay much attention to them since I never cared much about Disney. (Warner Bros. R00ls Disney. Bugs would kick Mickey's ass! ;) :D )
I've heard lots about "Boycott Disney! Disney si teh deval!" but not a lot in the way of details.

Disney is a company that *always* impresses me. Their committment to quality is mind-bending.

Seriously.

Their cheapest hotels were better than most of the best 4 star hotels in South America.

It's just amazing.

The place is safe, the rides are aMAzing and most people that bitch about Disney World do so without experiencing even a tenth of the "magic"(no pun intended) to be found there...

safe?

I think not. My brother worked there and saw some stuff that would blow your mind away.

Someone on ars saw someone get hit by a Disney Utility vehicle and nothing ever happened to the driver.

Uhm, I've seen the same thing happen on a STREET.

But, by and large, the Mickey Police don't play that shit.

I've seen rowdy people incarcerated in the Mickey Jail.

It's uglier than it sounds.

It's a combination of two things that bug me.

There's the standard "large corporation exploits cheap labour in LDCs" practice (and pretty lousy treatment of their staff in developed countries too).

And then there's the "whenever Mickey's about to fall into the public domain, copyright law gets changed so he's still covered for another decade or so" issue.  Whilst media companies are trying to pervert copyright law even further, with the DMCA and other stupid legislation, it's Disney that pioneered such corruption.

Agreed!

AHA. I knew they had something to do with it. I somewhat remember hearing about this a long time ago. Fucking bastards. (I'm sure they're not alone in this, but DAMNIT.)

Fuck Mickey!
