John Steed is one of the Avengers - a pair of British agents. It was a 60s British show - later with a crappy 80s sequel and there was a movie done a while back with Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes.
They fought off all sorts of Bondesque villians - but a quite a bit more surreal than Bond.
Steeds classic (but not only) female partner was Emma Peele played by Diana Rigg, who was Bonds wife in the first Bond flick.
