Concerning 19 year olds

The Eleven

Tue Apr 30 01:58:47 2002

Bit a bizarre scenario...

I'm 27 and I have a friend through work that is 40 something. He has a 'girl friend' who has a 19 year old daughter. We all have been hanging out for a while and the daughter told her mom to tell my friend that she wants to to out with me on a date. Both my friend and his girl friend are cool with it, but I think it's kind of bizarre. She has a rockin' body but I'm having some serious moral qualms. I know this is a VR-ish type question, but I'd like an answer beside "Nail her you idiot". Is this strange?

BTW sorry for the half drunken post

give her a shot. she might be mature enough to bridge the age gap. though most likely, she's just another college girl convinced that she will be more grown up by going out with an older guy. ::sigh::

Hey, what the...what's wrong with going out with a girl who thinks she'll feel more grown up going out with an older guy?

Some important things to remember:
1. She wants to go out with you. This alleviates metric tonnes of moral quandries. (i.e. you're not a cradle robber, she's just interested in older men)
b. The "people in charge" are cool with it. This also takes off some of the heat.
III. It comes down to you. Can you handle dating a girl 8 years younger than you? I wouldn't likely care (when I am 27 that is. I'll be damned if I'm going to start chasing 14 year old skirt.) The older you get the bigger tha gap can be, heh.

Were it me, I'd go for it and tread lightly. If you don't like the way things are going you can always use "I don't think this is going to work out with our age difference" or a "distance relationships never work" should she be leaving for college.
If you do like the way things are going after a while, it's time to get your freak on. No sense in letting a hotbody get away from you. :D And if she's really all for it early on, remember this: she's probly played that game before several times. In that case be sure to get all the at-bats you can, but wrap it twice. ;-)

19 is just on that borderline. 18 would definitely be unacceptable (I mean there are 18 year olds in high school for god's sake). 20 Would seem okay. So i'd say meet her, and if she seems mature, go ahead with it.

I honestly can't see any reason to have a moral crisis here.

She's initiating, her mom's OK with it, and your friend has no qualms.  Sounds like a win-win to me.  Wish I had girls coming after me like that.  (Of course, I'm married, so that would put me in quite a predicament anyway. ;))

Go for it.  If you don't wanna take a chance, I'm sure there are people here who'd stand in line for such an opportunity. :D

Indeed. Give her this place's address should things not work out.
In either case, prep some pictures of her. :D
