Lounge vet Jade reports that he's purchased a TiBook for his wife.  He chronicles his experience in this intriguingly-entitled thread.

Hilarity ensues.  Please enjoy. ;)

Jade is...odd.

I enjoy his writings (occasionally) but I don't buy into the fanclub, never have, and never will.

Hmm, he ought to post that in the BF; it'd be a vast improvement over the normal drivel.

MWNH would just lock it.

I thought Jade's writing was pretty funny, but I'm not a fanboy either.

OW likes Jade, :)

...I'm more of a JB fan myself.

I prefer BJ.

But that doesn't actually have anything to do with Ars, however.

Hehe. Yeah, I dig BJ too. She's not around much unfortunately. :( :(

I do get to chat with her distant cousins though.

(How's that for stretching the fuck out of a joke? ;) )

I'm not a fanboy of Jade, rather I like his writing style and creativity. I write in my spare time too (well i used to) so I suppose its just natural I take a keen interest in other 'amature' writers, especailly those with an obvious talent with words like Jade.
His writing style is a complete opposite of mine, but the theme can be quite similar at times.
Then again he has the virtue of age (read: experience) that allows his writing to be more refined where as I'm still searching for my 'style'. I actually quit writing ~2 years ago because I could never be satisified with my work due to the fact that I can't seem to produce work that I feel reflects my influences like Oscar Wilde.
The professors, friends, and strangers that have had a chance to read my work do point out that my style is a mix of Wilde with themes reminisent of Kierkgaard (sp?) so that pleases me a bit, but I still find it difficult to find any pride in my own work other then the sheer joy of writing in itself.

Right now I'm working on a script with my friends for a  short movie we are going to make and enter for a local film competition in Hong Kong. Its difficult working with people who have different views of the purpose of art, but its an experience i find worthwhile as I am learning how to deal with the differences and allow it to make the art stronger and better versus letting the differences breakdown the process and create a mishmash of conflicting and forced ideas.
The cool thing is that i'm more involved in the storyline and style of the movie which I enjoy, but the dialogue is going to be written by my friend as he is stronger in that area. My other friend (there is three of us) makes sure we stay focused and insures we stick to the overall theme and not sway to much.

Anyway if this movie ever works out, and believe me its a lot harder to make it work then it sounds, I might start to focus on getting my other ideas on film too. I have quite a few pieces i have written (on paper or in my mind) during college and would love to see it realised. The one short I want to work on is a Quintin Tartino (sp?) style set to music with cut scenes of a vagabond preeching about the dual nature of man's evil and good.

Anyway, the point is, I am very much the creative animal, hence I seek out others that are driven by the same desires as I am. The exchange of ideas between creative types can be very euphoric especially when there is a chemistry between each other. Although I have experienced situations with creative types that tend to let their ego's get the best of them. That sucks most.

The best part about creative types is the eccentric nature of the group. Ah, to suddenly jump on the table and start claiming your homesexual love in public was ammusing to say the least. Even more funny that people that would stare would then shrug it of as, "oh these artistic types are all fags," as if it were acceptable for artists to be homosexual in a strong homophobic enviroment.
