I am encouraged by the mention of Asterix and Obelisk in another thread.  Someone here has taste. I see it's not DrPizza :)

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi.

I identify "how U doin'" with Joey on Friends too... the new Bud commercials are, well, dum... I liked the Frogs better.

Though nothing beats the Molson Canadian commercials for pure hilarious-ness and originality.  Ah... how I yearn for a site to pick up where AdCritic.com left off.

His name is "Obelix".  Just as asterisk -> Asterix, Obelisk -> Obelix.

Not in French it isn't... Obélisk is a play on the word Obelisk, meaning the huge stone monoliths.

And since the Astérix and Obélisk books are all originally French (and much much funnier in French I might add).  I am compelled to spell their names in their native language. :)

Points for who knows who Idéfix is.

If Austrian is so great, how come Mozart (an Austrian himself) didn't write any operas in it rather than Italian or German?
