Jeremy Reimer

Signed,

Your Boss.

It's the crack pipe that keeps him employed. After all that is what it would take to keep me in front of a Mac all day.

I'm posting from a PC Captain Clueless.

You're posting the theme song to Enterprise in post titles, one post at a time.

It's just loony.  I thought you were the Busiest Worker Ever(tm)???

Madan

Tue Mar 19 22:50:07 2002

Long story. I'm shirking my duties, essentially.

But your brutally annoying sarcasm is noted.

M.

Jeremy Reimer

Tue Mar 19 22:51:32 2002

Shirking duties??

Um, nah.  Never done that.  Nuh-uh.

Madan

Tue Mar 19 22:53:55 2002

Despite my being a fraud(paper tiger), I got another web dev. gig.

:0  ??

So now I'm responsible for four commercial sites.

M.

Jeremy Reimer

Tue Mar 19 22:54:53 2002

So, er, why aren't you off developing this site then?

eH?

Madan

Tue Mar 19 22:55:34 2002

Because I work from 7-11 every fucking day and it's been like this for the last 2.5 years and I think I finally ran out of gas.

Plus, there's so much to do and learn that I just want to give up.

It's like the swimmer, struggling on his sinking raft in the middle of the pacific, that sees a large tidal wave making its way towards him and the swimmer just decides to give in instead of wasting his time fighting it out.

So,

I'll be working at a cookie factory for the rest of the week to make ends meet.

it is grueling work where you must be constantly moving to keep up.

It is sucktacular, especially for $8.50/hr

Madan

Tue Mar 19 22:59:16 2002

I'm so sorry.

By the way, do you know any of the Keebler Elves personally?

Besides, I have no pity for you AYB.

If I could find an IT job then the only reason *you* don't have one is to jack the cookies off the conveyor belt when noone's lookin'.

Perks wi the job.

This may be news to you, but people with qualifications a lot better than I are having the same trouble.

It's not like I'd actually prefer working for 8.50 versus 40,000+ a year while busting my butt rather than sitting at a desk learning interesting new things

:(

Uhm, I know.

But listen, there are plenty of small companies, universities and schools that need IT ppl and are willing to pay at least double what you're making as Ms. Field's personal ass squater...

I don't think you're lookin' hard enough Captain Tagnut.

next to none are willing to invest the two weeks it would take me to learn their system as an entry level graduate.  Look in the ads, they all want 2-3 years of experience even for low pay helpdesk work.  hell, even some jobs listed as "Entry Level" wan't non-entrylevel knowledge and experience when you look at the job details

I don't think you're lookin' hard enough Captain Tagnut.

M.

Believe me, I are.

You should talk to the programmer in the Lounge who just took his first vacation after nine years.  :fruit:
Madan

Tue Mar 19 23:17:53 2002

It's too bad you're up there Tagnut.

Down here, I'm fairly certain I could find you a job.

Why don't you sit for the A+?

I was looking through the materials. You could probably pass it without studying(much, anyways).

Then hop to MCSE(which would opt you out of at least one year of experience).

Madan is going to go into Law. Probably within two years if things don't improve.

Madan is "working" 100+ hours a week for a constantly diminishing amount.

Madan wants to be like Thomas Jefferson...with fifty professions.

Tech weanie wannabe, MBA, Science Teacher, Graphic Artist, Consultant, Lawyer?, Children's Book Author...etc..etc...etc...

Madan has faith in AYB's skillz.

Madan idolizes AYB's tagnuttery-licious skills.

Madan remembers when LB was clueless. Madan sees tremendous growth in LB's skillz after 1 year.

Madan foresees greater growth potential, still, for Tagnut.

I looked through it too.  i could probably shore up enough on it in a few days of study, but what I don't know typically amounts to memorizing IEEE designations for outdated ports and the little matter of $240 for the tests.

i prefer to study for Network+ as it contains more things of relevance that I don't know.

Then I may do Either Server+ or study up on security issues.  Then also, I must get back to some ASM and C++ and possibly learn some (shudders) Java2

A+ is frigging easy. Anyone and everyone here should be able to pass that farce of an exam.
OscarWilde

Wed Mar 20 04:57:44 2002

yes, learn java fool. Its just a programming language. I don't know why there is such a resistance to it.

Anyway, are you looking for jobs close to where ya live or you looking around the states?

There should be plenty of jobs available if you are willing to move. Granted moving is a bitch add to that getting to an interview in another state/city is quite a bitch too.

Move to northen california! That way when i come down to the states, which means i'm almost always in LA, i'll fly up to come and see you. Then we shall discuss all things poopy and stinky.

Indeed!

yes quite indeed.

I was considering other places.

But I'd miss my mommy to much :(

Yes, AYB is a big friggin baby!
