When I  buy a new Mac and a new PC two or three years down the line, I expect i won't consider either company's product offerings. That new PC will probably be Dell.

That said, after listening to the nonsensical diatribes of fellow Arsers, I was fooled into believing that Carly Fiorina is some she-devil that, stuck with delusions of grandeur, wants to A. run a large corpoation(bigger than HP) and b. make a killing off of the stock when a merger occurs.

I still think these two reasons are true but I must say that after listening to her interview on Charlie Rose, I'm really impressed.

Anyone that hears her speak KNOWS that this is a *very* intelligent individual. Moreso, if you actually look at the board's implementation plan and see the accounting team's books for the merger, you'll see that the merger is quite sound.  Moreso, while I began as a skeptic, I honestly think she made me a believer in the merger. It wasn't just sales, however. It was her ability to substantiate her claims with intra-corporate reporting, her incredible knowledge of various key tech industries and her insane amount of preperation and discipline.

I'm looking forward to seeing what she does in the future.  After all, the computer industry hasn't had a major female player.

It looks like it just got one.

DIY==Do It Yourself

And I've personally had great experiences with HP's business computers (Vectra, ePC, servers).  I'm not too thrilled with their home line (Pavilion), but then again I don't blame the entire company for one bad product.

Likewise, I'm satisfied with Compaqs on the server side, but not in the home.

anyway i'm using the Chimera Browser right now... nice browser...

the browsing arena on the mac is looking better and better and ironically making even IE 6 on the pc look more like crap...
