I need some ideas

I would like to set my linux box up as a router, after bulletproofing it, especially if it'll be in the DMZ. What I'm wanting the box to do is essentially have QOS running on it, giving a higher priority to my roommates IP packets vs mine. Primarily because his CS pings go to hell whenever I use ANY bandwidth, even a 4k download will kill his ping.

Or, can I do that in my Cisco 678?

Considering the fact that (a) CS is shit (b) if it's your machine it should be you who gets the better performance, why not just tell him to stick it up his anus?

Well, here are my reasons.


A: He's paying for the DSL, I've been unemployed for 2 months.

So, he should get the better pings. :)

Ok.. Job...

However that still doesn't solve my immediate problem. Unless of course, Petey wants to give him oral pleasure for my downloading experience?
