I have a new pair of running shoes

Saucony. ~$30 before tax (sale big).

Hopefully they'll last longer than my $25 pair of XSports that fell apart inside of 6 months. And hopefully they won't reek worse than dead and rotting cattle after prolonged periods of wearing them without socks.

I also bought a bunch of new pairs of socks.

Consider yourselves informed.

I'll alert the media.

I'll alert the media.

The media are already alerted. On a very small scale.

Internet = media. OSY = on internet. Therefore, a very small and trifling part of the media are alerted.

 I should be a pre-law major.

By the way, the above was an attempt at humor. On reflection, it failed.

Shoes that could make your feet not smell bad would be nifty indeed.

Especially since I am very anti-sock.

However, I think anti-stink shoes would be difficult to market.

There's very little getting around it. If you wear primarily shoes that don't allow air circulation, your feet will tend to smell, although potency of the stench will vary.

My feet truly reeked when I ditched my old shoes -- too much sweat buildup, grime buildup, too little airing out. The shoes stunk as well; very much so.

On a slightly unrelated note, foot fetishes puzzle and disturb me. I truly believe someone with such a thing must be clinically insane.

I congratulate you on finding shoes in your size at such a good prize.  I have a hard enough time trying to find wide sneaks, myself.

But damn, no one seems to make black high-tops anymore.  Reebok has one model with the velcro strap where the top-most laces would go, but cripes, I wore those in the mid-80s and don't plan on wearing them now.  Nike occasionally has the NBA-superstar-of-the-week hitop in black, but at >$100 it's not something I'd be purchasing.

Think it's hard to find wide shoes? Try finding extra narrow ones.

i wish my new boots would be faster about becoming as comfortable as the old pair. after all... they're identical (other than the three year age difference).
