I downloaded it and want to get on the ars irc thingy, how?

sorry, me don't know bitchx that well. plus i'm not sure what exactly you're asking. You mean whats the settings for the irc servers, i.e. you gotta know which dalnet or whatever you need to connect too. Then you might also need to get a user name and password to login to the main server. Then after that its just a matter of, '/j #ars' or whatever the ars channel name is.

Anyway, i'm not really sure what you're asking. I've used bitchx only once but i prefered snak or mcircle.

give me more specfics and i might be able to help you out. Plus you using OS 9 or OS X? If its OS X you need to change the netd settings to open a port for IRC since by default OS X has a the minimum ports open to allow for basic internet use.

why did you want to go on the ars irc for anyway?

we should make an OSY IRC but then that would really reduce the post count here for many of us. Plus there are times we're nearly posting in real time.

Well, I did it out of curiosity actually.

I don't think we need IRC.  Rather, we need an OSY meet, which would be difficult with you living in Hong Kong and stuff.  Hitscan seems to be the closest to AYB and it would be nice if we can somehow meet up with perhaps Harb and IG driving from Pit and Texas respectively, but I don't see any of this happening soon.

Well, #programming on Ars IRC is fairly useful. Besides, we ought to have a #osy channel.
