45 logos to trim, recolor, set to web and set to a page.

Integrate said table into the site and upload.

Fsk. Worst, I'm on a PC(at work) and I can't Applscript this(not that could anyways since all the images are so fucking diff.).

Life sucks.

I don't have a job. I don't have a girlfriend. I don't have any ideas for things to write. And I'm in a "dry spell".

Conclusion: My life suckage > Your life suckage

45 logos to trim, recolor, set to web and set to a page.

Um... so?  This would take me maybe an hour.  Isn't this your job?  I'm confused.

Web deving is SLOW.

Little work.

I'm getting paid 200 bucks for 20 hours of work.

Tell me again, how I'm supposed to be happy Reimer.

*EDIT* WHAT?

Re-color b&white 5in tiffs to GRADIATED COLOR and resize/web-build in ONE hour? FOR FORTYFIVE?

I think you're still PS devoid.

Well, not to be too blunt, but if it's long hours for low pay and you don't enjoy it... um... why are you doing it?  You already have a full-time job.

Madan

Wed Jan 23 02:12:53 2002

Life seems to suck all around.

But I'm feeling significant pressure.

Case in point:

As a teacher, I'm responsible for 40 kids x 5 classes. I'm also resp. for crafting a detailed-weekly plan for their activities(I'm one week behind).

I was also responsible for making and CHECKING mid-terms.

I was responsible for organizing my room after they ripped me out of one class and placed me in another, in, get this, 15 MINUTES. So now I have tons of paper everywhere.

In the HeraldStore, we're axing merchandise because the tiny profits we're making aren't "worth keeping". As a result, the ENTIRE db and site have to be re-done.

For my other web gig...CN, I have to re-do the web site and the guy's been bugging me to finish but I can't.

For my other web gig, they want me to start yesterday but I can't... No time.

For my other web gig...oh, wait...what web gig. I told my client to go to hell after she balked at me over designs(that, get this, weren't "funky" enough)...Trust me guys...I'm a Mac geek. That page was a mess...

Then I have to take a teaching class to keep my teaching certification. That's on saturdays from 8-6 and I'm already a 5 pg paper behind. That'll last until march.

Oh yeah, my Compaq broke...again. So now the Compaq tech passed by and tried to tell me that there was a problem with the "system card". *jerking off motion*. Yeah, I was born yesterday.

So now, EVERYTHING is thrown on my lil' iFruit and heaven forbid if she gives up on me.

Oh, did I forget to tell you that they were having construction at my place, adding a new room and bath? Did I forget to mention that this supposedly 2 month job extended to FIVE? Did I forget to mention that the task kicked up tons of dust that ended up causing me to go to the hospital two Saturdays ago for my asthma condition?

Did I forget to mention that I didn't have access to any magazines/books/tv/computer etc for over a WEEK from home?

Did I forget to mention that when they finished, we found structural errors in one of the hardwood floors in an adjacent room that cost me thousands more. A week more?

Did I tell you that I'm feeling REALLY fucking stressed out?

FUCK THIS.

I don't know how you guys can't get fucking jobs.

You know like, twenty times more about hardware than I do and I knew more than most Dell and Compaq techs.

Submit a fucking resume. Tell them you're young, smart and pliable. Fucking bend over if you have to.

I've just recently found out a fun fact about my job. Out director wants all full-time staff to be on the board of a community project in the neighborhood. I hate it around here. If it weren't for my girlfriend working there with me I'd be printing resumes by the ream. >:(

But, having read you guy's stuff it doesn't seem like I have it quite so bad. :( Sorry everything is shit for everybody, heh. (I still ain't gettin on no damn boards though, meh.)

Madan

Wed Jan 23 02:29:48 2002

I'm going to take some time from the boards.

I'll see you guys when I see you.

Why not be a garbageman then?

It's gotta be a lot less stressful.  :)

EDIT:  Didn't realize Madan checked out of the thread.  I didn't mean to be so harsh. :(

But I'll say this, being a teacher fucking sucks.  Way too stressful and way too much work.

yeah looking for a jobs sucks ass.

The thing is I don't want another IT/admin job or anything technical. I can't stand the shit (ironic since pick up on the stuff fast).

So right now i'm focusing on jobs like graphic design, script writer for adverts, production assistant for a media house* or writing jobs for magazines.

*I applied for production assistant at Turner (AOL Time Warner) but so far no reply. :(
I want to get a job where I can be creative because thats what i love doing. I can't imagine living the rest of my life as an IT or some technician. Just not my calling, so i hope you guys don't take offense if you're an IT or technican. :)

That boo hoo was to no one in particular. It's just like this, everyone makes decisions, whether to work a particular job, or to not work a job. Whether to be unemployed or to be employed. The decisions you make in your life affect you. I understand being bummed out, but if something is really making you unhappy, change it. Life is too short to be doing something you hate, or being with people you don't like, or being forced to change your moral values to fit into something you wouldn't normally do. I am not having the time of my life right now, I'm unemployed, having difficulty finding a decent job here in the lowest paid place in what seems like the nation. I just started a job yesterday, but it sucked hardcore, so I decided I didn't want to work there, called them this am, and let them know my decision. Life is what you make out of it, and if your decisions don't pan out the way you expected, I understand being unhappy, but don't expect much pity from me.

Everyone here is cool, everyone has some problems in their life, lack of women, jobs, other cool shit, what have you. But some of the people here expect the world to be just, and fair, when in reality, it's not. It's a cold harsh mean fucking unfair place to be.

This one little aspect took me some time to figure out, but here is my 'wisdom' ( wisdom is in quotes, cause it took me so long to figure this out, I'm probably 'tarded ) Live for yourself, it's your life. Do what makes you happy. Happiness *IS* the key.

You are not your job.
You are not what's in your wallet.
You are not your fucking khakis.

You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake, you are composed of the same rotting organic matter as the rest of the universe.

That's uncanny, OW, because that almost exactly describes how I feel.  I can do the tech shit but I don't like it-- I try to do as little programming at work as possible, concentrating on more creative tasks such as user interface design and graphic work.  Although they always want to hire expensive external people to do the graphic stuff, even though they don't do that much better a job at it, but hey, better than nothing.

Sure, Life Is What You Make Of It(tm) but sometimes it's damn hard to do exactly that.  Positive thinking can take you only so far...

Wed Jan 23 09:48:27 2002

Interesting perspective that Jeremy and OW have. Personally I would never want to do anything creative for a job because it would mean your creative works are always being judged, rated chastised ect.

DeAthe - you are, of course, correct. But that doesn't mean we can't bitch and moan about it. :)

Personally I hate my job, but I can't really do anything about it. It took me 11 months of hardcore putting-off-looking-for-a-job just to get this one.

"Lifes a bitch and then you marry one."

Never understood that adage till I actually met a honest to god prima donna bitch. Off course I'd never marry her but I shudder to think of the man that will.  May god have mercy on his soul.

To bad this super bitch has the fucking hottest body eva! but i'd be to afraid to have sex with her because my dick may freeze and fall off if i insert it in her ice cold pussy.

Am i getting it across that this girl i'm talking about is just a fucking bitch?
