What do you Europeans say?

Should Britain adopt this thing?

I believe the Euro could be a good thing. It also could be a nightmare. It depends on whether the countries using it cooperate or not, and how well they do so.

Eventually, I believe Britain may join the Euro, and it may help the thing if they do. Britain is one of the world's largest economies, after all.

But that would be insentive for Britan to stay out of it I figure.  Does Britan really want to be mixed in with some of the other countries that are nothing more than third-world euro-trash?

That may be detrimental to teh UK's ecomomy

a dutch friend of mine was lamenting the arrival of inflation in the netherlands due to the euro.

odd fact: while his english is friggin perfect (everything he says sounds like a well executed school assignment), he refers to the dutch currency - guilders, in english - as gulden, which is the dutch word.

I think it's a short-sighted.

If we really wanted a global currency, why not sell currencies to the big credit card companies? They'd be able to consolidate them.  Visa and Mastercard pretty much handle the western worlds debt anyway.

Yeah, the governements of the West could privatise currency! That way, the ten billion quid deficit from switching to eCash could be regained in fees!

I don't know whether to laugh out loud or quiver in fear. I am torn.

I hate the fucking Euro.

I HATE THE FUCKING AMOUNTS OF COINS IT GIVES US:

.01,.02,.05,.1,.2,.5,1,2 €

At the moment we have:

.1,.5,1,5,10 ATS

Paper money:

5,10,20,50,100,200(i'm not sure),500 €

ATM:
20,50,100,500,1000,500 ATS

1€ = 13,7603 ATS

SO EVERY FUCKING THING WE PAID UNTIL NOW WITH A NICE HANDY PAPER WE HAVE TO PAY WITH COINS.

FUCK YOU GERMANS AND FRENCH FOR THE COINFLOOD.

haha.  Well, you've heard what I think of coinage, and I think the US needs more of it.  but if what you're saying is right, then that is a bit out of control.

Hmm.  I have a solution.  You send me all the good looking german and french women, and i've solved half of your problem right there.

:p
