Spent the night at De La Salle. They are hosting a high school tournament with all the big bay area schools. Ran into one of the coaches from Berkeley High, who had just retired, and we shared Phil Chenier, Jackie Ridgle, Glenn Burke, John Lambert, etc stories. Meanwhile, front row, on the floor, for free.
I've refed for CYO for about 8-10 years, and this year, I stepped up to Contra Costa Officals. Doing High School, JV, and freshman games. It's fun, I get paid to run, and,
I get the best seat in the house.
Plus, it's one of the few times in life kids will actually listen to an adult. I yell at em as we go, so I don't have to use the whistle, and, I get to teach fundementals, like
"don't reach, move your feet, hands off etc.".

I'm really enjoying it this season.

I hate basketball. I used to love it.

But then again lately I hate almost everything, except writing, reading, anime, and sleep.

Think about this IG. When I do girls high school basketball, I am surrounded by beautiful, healthy young women. I also have a whistle that they always listen to,
and, they actually lesson when I talk, since it affects how they play the game.

On top of that, I can get the ball anytime I want(that's a basketball joke, since many times in games you never see the ball, thanks to ball hog teammates) and you actually get PAID for this.

If I was younger and in college, I would have started doing this long ago, but, when I was in college, they didn't have girls high school basketball.
You young pups have no idea how lucky you are.

Duffman: What planet are you living on? In this area, the MOST attractive girls are into sports and fitness.
That's how they stay that way.

The players are often more attractive then the cheerleaders, and better built, and stronger.

The underage part is a problem, but, for young pups like you, probably not so much of one. Many would be worth any statutory waiting period....

View them as sort of like fine wine, but better;-)

Really severe social pressure, from an early age, like, CYO at 3rd grade, to play, and stay in shape. It's more social pressure then the boys.

The results are simply amazing. What fools my generation was, to have not Title 9nd sooner;-(
