I'll be back in a few days

I've been working as a virus removal technician for a few weeks now.

I've had enough.

I'm installing linux on my box as my primary OS, and just gonna keep a 1 gig windows drive for games.
I'm done.

I've seen every fuckhole on this planet fuck his computer up cause they're tarded. I'm sick of Outlook's dipshit security policy, sick of OE's POS crap. Sick of malformed mime attachements that auto run cause MS won't put a outlook fucking security patch out on windows update so people will be protected from fucktards.

/me is just angry.
But I am gonna trash my computer in retribution. :)  ( i'll prolly ghost it first tho. )

Heh. Now, imagine you work for a Library full of women utterly uncapable of following any instructions relating to email or virus safety, and you get to don the hazmat suit and clean things up.

I do agree though, Security should be the first concern on Windowsupdate and Officeupdate. (especially Officeupdate.. heh.)

WHY THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! NOW YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN!!!???

There is just some shit you would think that Microsoft should do right. However there are two things:

1) Msoft is a vicitim of its own size. OE is the default and probably the most used email client out there. So hackers and tards will aim for OE first.

2) I like some of Msofts products/services, but its not like its the only solution and far from the best solution either.

The good news is that Mozzila is coming along fine. I only wish they could imrpove the start up time, other then that its getting pretty damn fast.

Now if i can only update the firmware of my Siemens SL45 phone to SL45i I can use a java based email client on my cell phone to smam AYB even when i'm on teh road... muahahahahaha!!!!

I am truly sorry for those morons who believe that Msoft should be in every nook and crany of technology.

even her ass hole? what about nostrils? or ear hole? and the pits in her arm pits?

eeuuuuwww!! i guess some guys find it a turn on to put their dicks in any hole they can find.

As one friend i had once said: "I was so horny at the time that i'd fuck any thing that moved... and if it didn't i'd push it."

you'd have to hear it, especially for the timing of the last phrase... we all cracked up and then proceeded to stay away from him... ;)

Days, hours, what the hell.

Slack is up and running, with a tiny 200 meg Win98 install just for games.

If he's able to produce things like this at will you likely have the Funniest Fucking Friend In the Fucking World.

It definately gets my seal of approval

That stupid MIME thing is impossible to get rid of. Every time you reinstall windows, every time you ghost a new machine off an old image. We all get fucked any time someone writes a new virus. Where I work we use NT4 for everything, and it will be years before we can even think about upgrading.

ROFL

What's wrong?  Poor poopy doesn't like having a virus remover, and a firewall software running on the same machine, so he can access the fucking internet?

How many software layers are required before a 1.4 ghz processor is the same speed as a mac?

Hitscan: Ok, now imagine doing the virus removal with those old ladies over the damned phone. That's hellish, man, horribly hellish. :)

Duff: Yea, you *can* avoid the mime exploit by avoiding MS email clients. Avoid Outlook and Outlook Express (shite)

Socrates:What? Was the in response to me? If so, it hasn't nothing to do w/ running virus software, hell I work for the largest AV provider in the world, it has everything to do with me not wanting to touch windows with a 10 foot pole after work. I'm soooooo sick of windows at that point I found that it was ruining my enjoyment of perhaps the greatest hobby I've ever had. So, I decided to try to mantain that hobby and start using *nix again full time.  I do however have a small 98se partition so's I can occasionally play Diablo. :)

deathe that was intended for me.

Huh? I do have a firewall, software and hardware. I do have virus software installed.
Norton antivirus which re-configures your email client to route the email to norton.antivirus.com and then back to your client. Plus my ISP has a service which scans my any incoming emails for viruses before they get uploaded to our clients here at work.

So i'm as setup as can be. That don't mean shit doesn't pass through and cause havoc.

OE 6 goes some distance to stop a lot of the scripts from starting up by it self by giving you a dialog box asking if you want to save or run them. And i've gotten it into my clients here at work to not accept anything under any circumstances. So that helps a lot too.

socrates, did you really think that your statement about the Athlon and software was prolific enough to start a thread at the BF?

heh!

Oscar: You should try out Nav 2k2, it uses a tcp/ip driver that checks the email instead of using the pop3 proxy. Much nicer setup.

Yea, I work for symantec. :)

Crap, I kind of wanted to be the poopy head. :)

Oh well, got Accel Xserver up using the Nvidia 2313 drivers and a new kernel tonite.

Tomorrow, sound, mouse wheel, and maybe try some quake action. :)

Ahh, jesus. This is what I get for using new hardware. My sound card isn't supported under linux. .... Hahaha, if it isn't one thing it's another. Bad thing is, only spare card I got in the house atm is a ISA SB16, and my mobo is a non isa board.

Shit.

At least X runs faster than shit right now, ( even if it takes 202 megs of ram )

I was semi serious about that.  It sucks having to run two layers off software under a browser, just to protect yourself against virus, etc.

Macs DO have an advantage, as does nix, since they are much less likely to be attacked.

Socrates: Yea, it does suck that there are viruses out there. What kind of people do this, and why? I myself just can't understand the logic behind writing a virus, generally, the good ones like nimda, take some serious thought and effort into coding them, that thought and effort could be used to actually, I dunno, make some money or do something cool. Scum I guess. As far as layering software to protect yourself, yea, it does suck, but it really doesn't interfere too horribly, as long as it's configured properly. Oh well, the joys and perils of computing with a bunch of assholes in the universe.

There's another virus of some kind?

Windows 2000 at work, Windows XP at home, work email goes through MIMESweeper, all executables are wiped on both incoming and outgoing emails. Outlook is patched, IIS is patched.

Done. No problems all year.

I love Outlook. I'm also smart enough to set it to run in the Restricted Sites domain, so my exposure is also next to nil.

Now, as to why MS is to stoopid to set it up this way by default is beyond me entirely, but I guess it's something we'll have to live with.
