If I liked that band anymore, I'd envy you. However, I don't -- their new music is too eMpTyv-oriented, and eMpTyv is the apotheosis of everything wrong with music today.

Your sister's pretty generous -- their concert tickets are not cheap.

Ug, the one downside to this is: I have to get my ass up at 6 am. :(

Yea, u2 has had imo a huge downfall from their earlier releases. However, I think they're still gonna have a good show, and hell, a free concert is nothing to sneeze at. Yea, she is very generous, they're damn good seats too.

Have a good weekend. :)

Is that a 70's band?

Umm...no. Ed Sullivan was the host of a TV show in the 1960's that often had bands and musicians on, to play live music, like on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Elvis Presley was on his show at least once, as were the Beatles.

He had a really strange accent and pronounced 'show' like 'shoe', so I was making light of that. He said that phrase I italicized many many times.

An 80's band? Who the hell is U@?  Heard of em, but can't place them.

Various songs by U2:

With or without you
I still haven't found what I'm looking for
Where the streets have no name

And I think those three are all off the same album, The Joshua Tree. They used to rule but they're too pop-oriented now.

And it's U2, not U@.

Edit: I believe they're actually an Irish band, not that this helps much.

Glad your sister's ticket money wasn't wasted.
