I think they were able to save money from the production costs of DBZ by putting a mic in public bathrooms. They used recordings of constipated people trying to poo for the voice overs of the power ups. This ends up being most of the show, and saving them millions in reduced studio time.

However the Japanese version used some of Japan's most famous and highest-paid and most-talented voice actors. Consequently, plus a lot of other reasons, it's immeasurably superior.

Well, Saban just plain fucked that show up bigtime. even bigger than they fucked up DBZ, when they were supervising FUNimation.

Eventually FUNi split, and the dub has since improved, but not enough. The original Japanese show is still immeasurably superior to it.

I'm sure you've seen at least a few episodes of the dub of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. Well, when the manga was originally being made into an anime, Saban was one of the companies vying for the rights. They lost, thankfully -- they wanted to make that manga into a live-action show :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:.

On a scale of 1-10, that would have merited a negative infinity; it would have absolutely, completely, and totally ruined the concept of BSSM.
