*sigh* Great.

My default image JPG format when saving everything off of a site from IE is .jpeg.

MS Paint can't read .jpeg.

I love it.

Odd. IE 5.5 here, tries to save a JPG as .jpg What version are you running? Not IE for Mac, right?

No. I'm running IE 5.5 on Win 98.

The IE build is 4134.

I go to a page. Select Save as: Go for Web Page Complete.

Everything saves. But all of the markers read .jpe(I'm guessing for .jpeg) rather than .jpg.

I'd have to change them manually or use a script. I'm too lazy to do either.

Is there a setting I can change this on?

:/

Of course, Paint isn't the most robust of graphic packages.

I don't know af any scripts, so I'd just try to rename things to *.bmp manually.

Use Win2K or greater.

Win98 is no longer being developed.  And it's shit.

I just open up a jpeg in IE, hit PrnScr, and then paste the image in paint. Of course, you can't save to jpeg, but what do you want, it's paint.

I second that, the whole of the windows 9x suit (incl. ME) is utter and pure crap!!!!!!
Ironically thats why I left the pc platform and went to the mac!
I JUST FUCKING HATED WINDOWS 95. So i started to look for alternatives. Did some research and I found the mac. I'm don't remember what made me finally decide to get my first mac, other then I bought one. The first few days I was a bit scared because I was so used to the Command Line from the days of MS DOS. Mac OS 7 had none of that. I also remember how i found the idea of "trashing my cd" a bit odd too.
Anyhow, i figured out the OS very fast and grew to actually liking the way Mac OS worked. Its remarkable how well Macs run inspite of the fact that its CMT and that it doesn't have dynamic memory allocation. I ALSO LOVED THE HARDWARE INTEGRATION ASPECT.

I pooh pooh on PC heads who think that Windows 9x is easy to configure. BULL FUCKING SHIT!!! I've had to deal with configuring so many pc's over the years. I've had to deal with a lot of problems in between.
Things have gotten a lot easier now on the PC front, but keep in mind NOW is something I found that Macs had a long time ago.

Anyhow. Windows 2000 kicks ASS!!! I like very much.
Also ironically is how Mac OS X seems to have its own issues with hardware plug and play.
Its like Microsoft is stepping forward and Apple is going backwards. OS X 10.1 isn't ready as a prime time OS just yet. Yeah its a great OS and does things remarkably well. BUT to me a GOOD OS is one that can deal with a lot of changes over time, one of them being hardware changes. I had a bitch of a time getting TWO FUCKING CD-RW's working in my powermac G4/533MP.
One was a Yamaha 2200 (20x10x40x) and the other a Ricoh CD-RW with the same speeds. ACK!!! So much fucking bullshit in OS X.
Again ironically in Windows 2000 i installed the CD-RW and I didn't even need to install any drivers. Woot!!!! I installed adaptec toast that came with the CD-RW and it all worked with ease.
The Ricoh CD-RW worked in OS 9 too, but the I/O is too slow, plus it sucks having to wait 650meg CD to burn. So PMT would be nice then.
The world is a tragedy. Will people ever get things right?
