    I remember back in the day, people used to add things like "bomb, espionage, president, HI THERE NSA!" to their Usenet posts. Everyone figured that the NSA was searching everything for keywords.

    Of course back then searching all of Usenet was trivially easy, you could just use "grep" on the feed, and many people (like James ’Kibo’ Parry) would do just that (he would reply to any post on any newsgroup where you mentioned his nickname)

    Ah, those were the days. Specifically, the late 80s and early 90s. Back then you read about Neuromancer and pretended you were living it, unlike today where that world actually happened.

    After the current shit storm at Ars about the articles concerning the whistle blower and gf, I doubt that I'll be back to the site. Too much coding and making the wife happy now days.
